November 2017 11/25/2017 The Rhein-Main Chapter is cordially exting an Ivy Circle Rhein-Main Invitation of the London School of Economics to all intested Cornellians and friends to an event to celebrate the end of the year with a Christmas dinner at Em Krützche and optionally a guides tour in English of the exhibition "Tintoretto - a star was born" at Wallraff museum. The exhibition celebates the upcoming 500th birthday of the Italian painter genius by bringing priceless loans from the worlds greatest museums to the Rhine, including works from London, Rome and Vienna.

Afterwards, the LSE Christmas dinner takes place athe renowned, traditional restaurant Em Krützche, near Cologne cathedral. The dinner features a 1/4 goose served in two dishes with salad and traditional trimmings and a desert afterwards.

Date and Time: Saturday November 25th at 3:45 pm
Place: Att the entrance hall of Wallraff Museum for the guided tour.

Afterwards, we will walk to Em Krützche, where the Christmas dinner will start at 6.15 pm. If you are only joining for the dinner, kindly join us directly at Em Krützche.

Participation fee per person for the dinner is 40€. Drinks during the dinner are not included. The guided tour ahead of the dinner is free of charge for members of the German Friends of LSE and costs 10€ for non-members.

October 2017 10/19/2017 The Frankfurt Chapter is again likely to be joining all other Cornellians around the world and in Germany for the local Celebration of the
International Spirit of Zinck's Night.
The invitation is extended to all interested Cornellians in the Frankfurt area and to their spouses and friends.

The Stuttgart Chapter’s 4th Annual 
International Spirit of Zinck’s Night Celebration

“We’ll all have drinks at Theodore Zinck’s when I get back next fall!” Zinck’s Night occurs on the third Thursday of October at meeting places around the world.  It’s a tradition that has been kept alive long after Theodore Zinck and his eponymous saloon faded from the streets of Ithaca.  Today, it’s a chance for alumni near and far to gather and celebrate the Cornell spirit.

Please mark your calendars for the 2017 Zinck's Night on the third Thursday in October -- just as every year! Klaus Conrad (M.S.'60) and Deloyce Conrad (B.S.'59) of the Munich Chapter may reserve a "Conrad-Cornell" table in some of the areas at the Ratskeller right at Marienplatz in the center of Munich for anytime after 6;30pm. Just ask the waiters for the table. Marienplatz can easily be reached by S- or U-Bahn public transportation.

Deloyce and Klaus will again be inviting all intested Cornellians to join fellow alumni, spouses and friends around the world for the annual celebration of the

International Spirit of Zinck’s Night

July 2017 07/20/2017 Klaus and Deloyce Conrad are again puttiong out invitations, as during the last many years, for the "Summer Quarterly" of the Munich Chapter.

This annual Cornell Beer Garden “get-together” in Munich will again be taking place in the Hirschgarten, (www.hirschgarten.de) any time after 6:30 p.m. Directions and parking are also given in the English version on the Hirschgarten website.  It gives the S-Bahn directions as well – it is important that the correct stop is “Laim” and not the “Hirschgarten” stop! In case of bad weather Deloyce and Klaus have reserved a table either under an awning, or indoors.  The reservation is done under the name “Cornell-Conrad.”

The 26th annual Cornell Weekend of the Cornell Club of Germany will resume in the north of Germany, in the city of Bremen in the German federal state of Hansestadt Bremen. All interested Cornellians are invited and asked to participate.  Preparations  are complete for the the program, the agenda for the annual meeting, the registration form and of course the official invitation have been published. You may also register with the CornellConnect event registration.

The Bremen meeting will convene at the Dorint - Park Hotel in Bremen .

In recognition of several joint degree programs between Columbia University, Sciences Po and the Hertie School of Governance, Jürgen Hardt, CDU Bundestagsabgeordneter und Koordinator für Transatlantische Zusammenarbeit, and Dr. phil. Ronja Kempin, Senior Fellow EU/Europa at Die Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik, will take a closer look at Germany's relations with its most important partners, America and France.

There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions after the panel discussion.
